Danny Katz - “Songs in the Key of [E]nnui”

New York-based indie folk musician Danny Katz’s new album has a musical vibe that is poppish and folksie with just a touch of an electronic retro-ness. He approached me for custom illustration work that was “fun, cute and hand-drawn.” I gave him three different illustration concepts before he ultimately decided upon the “cute robots” option.

Inspired from the illustration styles of renowned artists like Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes) and comic book industry artist and illustrator Skottie Young. I created a series of illustrations for the cover art and individual track covers for Spotify and Apple Music’s interfaces.
